This roof tear-off project called for a 10 yard dumpster placed right in the driveway for easy access. The crew worked in sections, tearing off old shingles and underlayment and loading debris directly into the container as they went, no staging piles on the lawn, no extra trips hauling material to the curb.
Roofing debris is heavy, and it adds up fast, weight limits matter more here than on most residential jobs.
Shingles and underlayment are dense, a standard roof tear-off can easily fill and weigh out a 10 yard container faster than a typical renovation cleanout. We sized this dumpster based on the roof’s square footage and layer count upfront, so there were no surprise overage charges once the job wrapped.
